Kim and Tim Lewis were high school sweethearts from the south side of Chicago. Kim and Tim have been together since they were 16 and knew that they would build a life and business together. They started CurlMix in 2015 because they wanted simpler ingredients in their beauty products. The Lewis duo started CurlMix with $100,000 that Tim won as a contestant on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. They then went on to Shark Tank, where they turned down an offer for $400,000 from Robert Herjavec because they knew they were worth more than he was offering. CurlMix has been on Forbes “30 Under 30” and Oprah’s “Favorite Things” and generated over $13 million in revenues since they launched.
